Review: Jackman & McRoss, Hobart, Tasmania

S and I took a little trip down to Hobart, Tasmania over the weekend and had a lovely time exploring the beautiful city. Yes, it's not a massive city, but there are an astounding amount of interesting things to do!

Since eating (and being a glutton in general) ranks quite highly on my list of things to do, we made our first breakfast stop Jackman & McRoss, a cafe close to the Salamanca Markets that's meant to be Hobart's top breakkie spot. Boy, were they ever right.

We were greeted with an array of heart stopping sweet and savoury pastries at the counter, causing a minor panic attack. When I had calmed down and stopped screeching about how-freaking-awesome  the danishes looked, we sat down to enjoy the frothy, rich coffees.

The service was a little flustered but polite, and one truly forgets about any lag time  when the food arrives. I ordered myself scrambled eggs wrapped in smoked salmon on a buttery danish and it was totally worth the wait. S had himself a a very naughty-looking BLT, and we decided to pick up a raspberry-creme filled brioche to pick on as we wandered around the bustling markets.

Don't miss this cafe - it's the top of TripAdvisor for a very good reason!

Happy campers after all that good food!
